Our illustrious Geeks, here listed both past and present, make up the backbone of Geekcorps programs. Representing 11 countries, they have come to Geekcorps with a vision and a desire to use technology for good, not evil.

British volunteer Alex Weir offered his talents in the west African nation of Rwanda, where he worked with the National Election Commission (NEC) late in 2003. Alex instructed a class of four NEC staff members, helping them hone the technical skills needed to create and maintain a database for upcoming elections. Using a project-based approach, Alex utilized the creation of the database itself as the central means of instruction. When the project was complete, a powerful NEC tool existed along with a new corps of administrators who were already familiar with the system.
